PUP Share Video For "Morbid Stuff"
Shot Live Across Two Sold Out London Shows Handheld Footage Recorded By 19 Fans

Following the end of the band’s recent world tour, a run that had them on the road for 9 months, PUP today share the video for "Morbid Stuff", recorded live and shot on cheap handheld cameras handed out to 19 gig-goers the band personally connected with in advance of their recent sold out London dates. As premiered yesterday on the fans’ social media accounts, the clip showcases the sweat-stained euphoria of the band’s shows and once again captures the unique bond between PUP and the people that come to their gigs, screaming every word.

Taken from the critically-acclaimed album of the same name, today’s release isn’t the first time they’ve collaborated on visuals with fans, for the ‘Free At Last’ video, which served as a love letter to their fans, the band called on people to record their own versions of a song not-yet-released, supplying only chords and lyrics to hilarious and impressive results.

Redefining the relationship between artist and fans, they’ve often let fans feel as much a part of PUP as the four people onstage, creating zines that connect on a more intimate level than social media, used in the past to leak information of upcoming releases  like the single "Kids" through fans all pushed via their fan-facing Little Dipper label imprint.
With the news that PUP will return to this side of the Atlantic next year for a summer of festival appearances, it was recently announced that the band, following 9 months touring, had offset the entire run through Less.ca. To raise the funds necessary, vocalist Stefan Babcock set to create 50 personalized one-of-a-kind tattoos for specific fans, all of which he’d connected with directly, again blurring the line between the band and its fans.

About "Morbid Stuff":

Formed in Toronto five years ago, PUP, comprised of Stefan Babcock, Nestor Chumak, Zack Mykula, and Steve Sladkowski, quickly became favourites of the punk scene with their first two, critically-beloved albums, winning accolades everywhere from the New York Times to Pitchfork, from NPR and Rolling Stone, and more. Now, with "Morbid Stuff", PUP have grown up and doubled down on everything that made you love their first two records. It’s gang’s-all-here vocals, guitarmonies, and lyrics about death. Lots of them.

Fitting to their ethos, their new album takes the dichotomy of fun and emotional wreckage in their songs and teeters between gleeful chaos and bleak oblivion while wielding some of the best choruses the band has ever written. "Morbid Stuff" is also a pretty intense foray into singer Stefan Babcock’s fight with depression, and shows, in perfect PUP fashion, how taking responsibility of his own depression lead him to….laughter. Admitting his depression allowed Babcock to laugh in its face, and the result is that marriage of darkness and joy that made PUP who they are, but in a brand new way.

Indeed, despite its dark subject matter, at times "Morbid Stuff" is funny as hell, even in the music. It’s the most insightful, sweetest, funniest, sickest, angriest, saddest and most inescapably desperate collection of songs they’ve recorded to date. If their self-titled record was the fuse and The Dream Is Over was the bomb going off, "Morbid Stuff" is your family sifting through the rubble, only to find you giggling while you bleed to death.

Stardom beckoned for Heavy Pettin‘ back in the early 80’s with arena tours supporting Kiss, Ozzy and Mötley Crüe and along with the help of MTV, the band scored a couple of Stateside hits.

In 2017, original members Hamie, Punky, and Gordon joined by Jez Parry on bass and Michael Ivory on drums performed for the first time in 25 years. Reinvigorated, HEAVY PETTIN‘ , joined by ex-Gun guitarist Dave Aitken due to Punky hanging up his guitar and going in to retirement, did several shows in 2018 and 2019.

According to Hamie, fans should look for a bit of 4PLAY “…the demand and support for new HEAVY PETTIN‘ material has been so overwhelming, we are excited to say we’re now working on brand new HEAVY PETTIN‘ material which will be released in 2019… and it’s going great!”

The British act IDOL RICH was founded in 1984 by guitarists Tim Jones and Nick Burr and although it was a reasonably short-lived act, they achieved much critical acclaim and featured well known musicians from some of the hottest New Wave of British Rock bands at the time. 

The 4 track EP entitled "Working Girls" which was released in 1985, and which was available in just 1000 copies, gathered a lot of positive reviews, and IDOL RICH was labeled as one of the best young bands in the UK.

British metal band Haema announce debut EP

Haema are an industrial-influenced experimental groove metal four-piece based in Northamptonshire, UK. Recently, the band has signed to metal label, Sliptrick Records, who have just released the quartet's debut EP, 'Insurrection', which was recorded at Initiate Audio & Media by Neil Hudson(Krysthla/Gutworm).

Formed in 2015, Haema encapsulate the essense of modern metal that likes to combine various styles of heavy music together. The four-piece hones in the heaviness and ferocity of groove metal, providing the crunchiest of hooks. This is balanced out by the infectiously catchy hooks reminiscent of the nu metal scene in the early 2000s. All the while topped off by the a layer of electronic sounds and machine gun like precision found in industrial.

Think if Fear Factory, American Head Charge and Machine Head were chucked into a blender, there’s a definite nod to the early 00s sound that ditched guitar solos in favour of raw emotion, down-tuned riffs and liberal use of electronics.

Within two years as a band, Haema have crafted a unique and individual sound that has been compared to the likes of the afformentioned bands also mixed with Tool / Rage Against The Machine overtones.

The musical brainchild of bassist Tas Danazoglou (Satan's Wrath, ex-Electric Wizard) Mirror's collection of cult crypt-kickers and mighty conjurings bears all the hallmarks of an instant classic. A chance meeting with respected producer (Ghost, Cathedral, Paradise Lost) and accomplished drummer Jaime Gomez Arellano led to the pair hitting on a shared vision of a classically aligned outfit that drew inspiration from the epic amplified landscapes of lore and legend whilst avoiding the lure of mere tribute, rather reinventing the sound and fury they loved anew. They were soon joined by Satan's Wrath axeman Stamos K, and their fate further sealed by the arrival of the mightily operatic tenor of vocalist Jimmy Mavromatis, before the ouroborus was completed with the arrival of Los Angeles-based guitarist Matt Olivo (Repulsion). Together as Mirror they deliver a thunderously resonant salvo of metal magnificence.

Angel Air Records announce STRAIGHT EIGHT No Noise From Here / Shuffle’n’Cut / Straight To The Heart out on 6th November 2015.

There are many bands whose history has been dogged by bad luck, missed opportunities, disastrous recording sessions and death. STRAIGHT EIGHT had all of these in abundance but still managed to release three critically acclaimed albums in the period 1978 to 1982 before calling it a day.

Formed in 1976 the band released in 1978 their debut single “Modern Times” on PETE TOWNSHEND’S independent label Eel Pie Records as a taster to their first album “No Noise From Here”.

Angel Air Records announce JENNY DARREN Heartbreaker-Best Of 1977-1980 out on 6th November 2015

JENNY DARREN is one of the very few raunchy “rock chicks” singers from the UK that could have given Joplin a run for her money. A child star, a recording veteran in a short time, and by the late 70’s rock had come calling with a vengeance – Jenny Darren was born with a voice and stage presence to die for.

The female rock anthem “Heartbreaker” was written specifically for her by the song writing partnership Gill/Wade but sadly her then record company dragged its feet on releasing it as a single and Pat Benatar heard the track and then recorded the song which went on to chart in the USA.

The tracks on the “Best Of” were recorded in the 1977 to 1980 period mostly at the famous 10CC Strawberry Studios. Jenny was by then supporting AC/DC on tour as well as performing at all the major festivals (Reading and Knebworth) and supporting Streetwalker and Patti Smith on tour.

We have talked with the guys about the story of the band, below the interview!

1. Hi guys, tell us when you formed Babysun?
Babysun was formed in 2009

2. Your Ep contains a number of styles, what is the genre of your sound?
We think it’s somewhere in the Alternative genre, maybe Electonic/Ambient Psychedelic Pop...to be honest we’re not really sure, you tell us.

3. What is the source of inspiration for the lyrics? Who writes them?
Vic writes the lyrics and they’re a combination of experiences, observation and personal views on everything from love, to politics.

4. What are the reasons by which you decide to give your band the name "Babysun"?
I liked the idea of something that suggested positivity and hope and that we are all little baby suns with a light to shine. I know, that sounds a bit hippy but hey.

5. Your album will be promoted in international media, what are your expectations?
We are just pleased to have a label who felt the material had a place and that people would like it. We don’t have any major expectations, just hope that the music can reach as many people as possible across the world and that they enjoy it.

6. To promote the record are you planning a live tour?
We would love to do some ‘live’ work as the project has been mainly a studio thing the last few years. Hopefully the EP release can generate enough of a buzz for us to entice a good ‘live’ agent or agents to help us co-ordinate that. So anyone out there who would like to get involved in that please contact us....we are here and ready to go.

7. Have you played in some important festivals?
Yes in the past we have played various festivals in the UK and some smaller events in Europe, we did open the Karel Muse Expo in Cagliari a few years ago too, that was particularly nice to be involved in.

8. I would like to have your own point of view about the poor sales of the CD's, it's causedby the internet? Technological development? or it's changed the mentality of the fans? 
I feel that maybe music isn’t so much of a ‘special’ thing to a lot of young people now as it’s so easily available and instant. Also the trend is for huge playlists of single tracks on personal devices now and not so much about having favourite bands/artists albums and becoming real fans and following that bands career the way I certainly would have done in my younger days...on the other hand the technological developments have given more new artists a platform to expose their music to the world, I believe that is a positive thing.

9. This is your first work for Brit Beat Records, what made you switch to them?
We were excited by the labels enthusiasm for the material and how much they wanted to help us promote the music.

10.Tell us a few funny anecdotes, in the past?
Vic was once quizzed by a rather drunk person at a ‘live’ show ‘How come if musicians were so good at what they did why couldn’t they create another music key like ‘H’ and why hadn’t it been done in all the years? He had no answer.

The International Swingers is a new punk rock group made up of four long term friends; Clem Burke, Glen Matlock, James Stevenson and Gary Twinn. So we started to write new songs together and soon had more than enough for what they used to call an “album”. Hi Will, let's talk about "We Are Living", your debut EP. 
        
1. You are a very young artist, as you started your career?  
I am still young but it seems like I've already done a lot. I started writing songs and playing live gigs when I was 14.  At first just open mic nights then the gigs got bigger later on. I always dreamed of going on tour when I was a young teenager so I started to play wherever I could, hoping one day I'd be able to. 
                                                                                              
2. What is the genre of your sound?
I usually describe it as acoustic pop rock to people who haven't heard it but it can also be described as melodic pop since melody is very important to me. Some songs could also be described as alternative pop or acoustic pop-punk, I don't want to be fixed into one genre.  If people like melody and lyrics, they'll like my songs I guess

3. What is the source of inspiration for the lyrics? 
The lyrics in my songs are usually drawn from my own experiences.  They can be about love, friends, family, school, growing up, even moving house.  Any experience that makes you feel something is worth writing about.

5. What are the reasons by which you decide to sign a deal with Nerocromo Music and Brit Beat Records?
They gave me the freedom to choose which songs to record, which many artists don't get.  They also allowed me to record and produce the tracks myself.  Both of these things are important to me and when they add their ability to market and promote the songs I couldn't refuse!

6. Are you working with the soundtrack of a movie? tell us something about this!
Yes! The movie is a short musical drama called DMUS and it is about a group of young, aspiring performers wanting to pursue their dreams.  It features two songs from my first EP "29", Urban Country and Tonight.  My recording of Urban Country plays over the end credits but Tonight is the theme song of the movie.  The cast performed their own version of Tonight over my original music.  To see them singing it in the movie was something I never thought would happen so it was a great experience.

7. Your album, now in the digital market, will be promoted in international media, what are your expectations? 
I hope to gain much wider international exposure, more followers and supporters of my music and hopefully that will lead to more opportunities in the future as well. I expect only positive things to come from this release.

8. To promote the record are you planning a live tour?
I would love to do that, it would be a lot of fun.  Unfortunately, I don't really have the funding to do it right now.  Also right now I need to focus on my studies at University but hopefully touring won't be too far away.

9. Have you played in some important festivals in the past?
I've played a lot of small festivals in England but none of the famous ones yet.  I will be playing at Helstonbury Festival in Cornwall in September though.

10. I would like to have your own point of view about the poor sales of the CD's, it's caused by the internet? technological development? 
Definitely.  Most people can get the internet on their phones and store music there or on their ipod or computer so why buy physical CD's?  I also think the fact that everything can be found on YouTube or Spotify and streamed for free is harmful to the industry.

11. So how was the approach in the recording of "We Are Living" ?
Each song has an acoustic element, either guitar or piano, so I began by recording these instruments in my studio at University.  After that I recorded the lead vocals.  The facilities and equipment where I study are incredibly high-end and professional with the added bouns of being free for me to use!
Once these were done it was simply a matter of many hours of additional composition and mixing.  Although  it was a lot of hard work I had so much fun doing it!  It was important for me to make each song fairly different from one another in terms of style.  It will be interesting to find out what styles listeners  prefer. I am in a place now where experimentation is rewarded so I want to take as much advantage as possible.  I hope I always get this much creative freedom in the future.

Glass Targets Brit Pop Rock debut EP

NEROCROMO MUSIC is proud to presents the melodic Brit Pop project GLASS TARGETS.
Glass Targets is a pop rock project that was set up by UK based songwriter Paul Hewitt. Glass Targets debut EP is titled ‘Memories of Youth’ and features 6 melodic pop songs with strong hooks and a highly commercial sound. The recording was produced by Darren Monson from Apple Beam studios in the UK and features guest vocals from Romany and David.    


Paul is a songwriter from the London area who writes songs primarily in a pop rock style. He is equally accomplished at writing both lyrics and music. 
Paul grew up in Blackpool in the North West of England and first became seriously interested in music in the late 1980’s after being given a copy of Appetite for Destruction by Guns ‘N’ Roses on cassette tape. In 1990 Paul attended his first live concert aged 10, which was Guns ‘N’ Roses Use Your Illusion tour at Wembley Stadium.  This was the performance that inspired Paul to take up the guitar. 
Throughout the 90s Paul expanded his musical influences to cover a wide range of 90’s rock including Nirvana, Pixies, REM, Smashing Pumpkins, Rage Against the Machine and Idlewild. Paul began writing songs of his own and played guitar in various local rock bands at small venues around the North West of England. 

In the 2000’s Paul ‘retired’ from the local band scene but continued to write guitar based rock songs and began recording them on a basic home recording set up. Looking to add some further depth to his songwriting, Paul taught himself some studio basics and began using drum machines and synthesizers in his music. 
In 2013 Paul decided to shift his focus from guitar based rock music to writing more commercial pop rock style songs. 
After recording a number of songs using a basic home recording setup, he approached Darren Monson of Apple Beam studios in the UK to produce the songs to a standard that would be ready for release.

UFO new album on February

The rumours have been doing the rounds for months, now it's official at last: 23 February 2015 will see the European release (Germany: 20 February 2015 / USA: 3 March 2015) of the latest studio recording by British rock legend UFO, their 22nd to date.

The album will be called A Conspiracy Of Stars, and the band consisting of Phil Mogg (vocals), Paul Raymond (keyboards, guitar), Vinnie Moore (guitar), Andy Parker (drums) and Rob De Luca (bass) have recorded almost a dozen fantastic new songs, produced and mixed in the Kentish town of Deal by Chris Tsangarides, renowned for his work with acts such as Judas Priest, Thin Lizzy and Gary Moore. A Conspiracy Of Stars will be available as a Digipak (including poster and bonus track), jewel case, vinyl double LP and for download.

More or less simultaneously with the release, UFO are scheduled to go on tour in February and March 2015, playing Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Lithuania and Switzerland, and more, followed by a tour of Britain and Ireland in April and May.

The band is already looking forward to the reactions to their latest release: "A Conspiracy Of Stars is another successful combination of those typical UFO elements with fresh, contemporary ideas. We're confident that not only our longstanding supporters will get their money's worth, but that younger rock fans will also enjoy the album. We look forward to seeing you on tour!"

UFO's New Album A CONSPIRACY OF STARS is out on:
      18th February in Scandinavia and Japan 
      20th February in Germany
      23rd February in the UK and the rest of Europe
      3rd March in the USA and Canada
The European leg of the tour will start in Germany on 20th February.

The Intentions aren’t to be a “Copy” of Le Griffe, but seeing as Rob & Paul were an Integral part of the song writing partnership on the 3 Vinyl Releases in the mid 80’s ( along with the other members of Le Griffe ) then there will Inevitably be a Lot of “Comparison” between Any New material From Breaking Chain & their Former Band .
In Le Griffe’s days, Bands passed Demo’s between Members in Cassette form , But todays Technology advances allow Groups to Record Hi Quality Products which can be shared over the Internet within minuits. Breaking Chain have the Structure , & Now the Skills to do this , as “Drive Studio’s” ( running ProTools 10 ) is the Bands Own
Recording & mixing facility , Run & constantly Updated by the Mad Head Bass Player , where Demo’s of New songs can be recorded & instantly sent to individual Band members.

Breaking Chain were formed in March 2014 , but the story Begins 2 years earlier when a Search through Rob’s Garage Files revealed a Photograph of the 1st Line up of Le Griffe . 
The Black & White picture was scanned, uploaded to Robs Facebook page & a Normal afternoon of family life was begun . Later on that Saturday afternoon Rob Logged back onto facebook , to find Messages about the picture , from All over the world . Fans of Le Griffe from Japan , Brazil , Italy , Portugal got in touch & were asking questions about this Original line up . The extent of
“Interest” in Le Griffe prompted Rob to attempt a reunion , but this was Not to be . A further attempt of a reunion was made by Robs fellow member of No Favors ( Neil Ogden ) , who was playing at that time in NWOBHM band Demon , & also in new Band “Lawless” , as there was an AOR & NWOBHM festival being staged in the Stoke-on-Trent area ,
But Again, This was Not to be .So , out of Disappointment comes a Totally New Band, Full of Passion, Drive & Dedication .
Work started on a track called “Real”, This is a Beginning , This is a Great Start . 
This is EVERYTHING .
