EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Will Sid Smith
We have talked with the young british pop sensation WILL SID SMITH.
Will is a singer/songwriter from Tunbridge Wells in England who plays guitar and keyboards nad his EP titled “We Are Living” contains 6 songs in vein of Brit Pop, Rock and Indie. Hi Will, let's talk about "We Are Living", your debut EP.
1. You are a very young artist, as you started your career?
I am still young but it seems like I've already done a lot. I started writing songs and playing live gigs when I was 14. At first just open mic nights then the gigs got bigger later on. I always dreamed of going on tour when I was a young teenager so I started to play wherever I could, hoping one day I'd be able to.
2. What is the genre of your sound?
I usually describe it as acoustic pop rock to people who haven't heard it but it can also be described as melodic pop since melody is very important to me. Some songs could also be described as alternative pop or acoustic pop-punk, I don't want to be fixed into one genre. If people like melody and lyrics, they'll like my songs I guess
3. What is the source of inspiration for the lyrics?
The lyrics in my songs are usually drawn from my own experiences. They can be about love, friends, family, school, growing up, even moving house. Any experience that makes you feel something is worth writing about.
5. What are the reasons by which you decide to sign a deal with Nerocromo Music and Brit Beat Records?
They gave me the freedom to choose which songs to record, which many artists don't get. They also allowed me to record and produce the tracks myself. Both of these things are important to me and when they add their ability to market and promote the songs I couldn't refuse!
6. Are you working with the soundtrack of a movie? tell us something about this!
Yes! The movie is a short musical drama called DMUS and it is about a group of young, aspiring performers wanting to pursue their dreams. It features two songs from my first EP "29", Urban Country and Tonight. My recording of Urban Country plays over the end credits but Tonight is the theme song of the movie. The cast performed their own version of Tonight over my original music. To see them singing it in the movie was something I never thought would happen so it was a great experience.
7. Your album, now in the digital market, will be promoted in international media, what are your expectations?
I hope to gain much wider international exposure, more followers and supporters of my music and hopefully that will lead to more opportunities in the future as well. I expect only positive things to come from this release.
8. To promote the record are you planning a live tour?
I would love to do that, it would be a lot of fun. Unfortunately, I don't really have the funding to do it right now. Also right now I need to focus on my studies at University but hopefully touring won't be too far away.
9. Have you played in some important festivals in the past?
I've played a lot of small festivals in England but none of the famous ones yet. I will be playing at Helstonbury Festival in Cornwall in September though.
10. I would like to have your own point of view about the poor sales of the CD's, it's caused by the internet? technological development?
Definitely. Most people can get the internet on their phones and store music there or on their ipod or computer so why buy physical CD's? I also think the fact that everything can be found on YouTube or Spotify and streamed for free is harmful to the industry.
11. So how was the approach in the recording of "We Are Living" ?
Each song has an acoustic element, either guitar or piano, so I began by recording these instruments in my studio at University. After that I recorded the lead vocals. The facilities and equipment where I study are incredibly high-end and professional with the added bouns of being free for me to use!
Once these were done it was simply a matter of many hours of additional composition and mixing. Although it was a lot of hard work I had so much fun doing it! It was important for me to make each song fairly different from one another in terms of style. It will be interesting to find out what styles listeners prefer. I am in a place now where experimentation is rewarded so I want to take as much advantage as possible. I hope I always get this much creative freedom in the future.

Glass Targets Brit Pop Rock debut EP
NEROCROMO MUSIC is proud to presents the melodic Brit Pop project GLASS TARGETS.
Glass Targets is a pop rock project that was set up by UK based songwriter Paul Hewitt. Glass Targets debut EP is titled ‘Memories of Youth’ and features 6 melodic pop songs with strong hooks and a highly commercial sound. The recording was produced by Darren Monson from Apple Beam studios in the UK and features guest vocals from Romany and David.
Paul is a songwriter from the London area who writes songs primarily in a pop rock style. He is equally accomplished at writing both lyrics and music.
Paul grew up in Blackpool in the North West of England and first became seriously interested in music in the late 1980’s after being given a copy of Appetite for Destruction by Guns ‘N’ Roses on cassette tape. In 1990 Paul attended his first live concert aged 10, which was Guns ‘N’ Roses Use Your Illusion tour at Wembley Stadium. This was the performance that inspired Paul to take up the guitar.
Throughout the 90s Paul expanded his musical influences to cover a wide range of 90’s rock including Nirvana, Pixies, REM, Smashing Pumpkins, Rage Against the Machine and Idlewild. Paul began writing songs of his own and played guitar in various local rock bands at small venues around the North West of England.
In 2013 Paul decided to shift his focus from guitar based rock music to writing more commercial pop rock style songs.
After recording a number of songs using a basic home recording setup, he approached Darren Monson of Apple Beam studios in the UK to produce the songs to a standard that would be ready for release.

RATED X is an exciting new super band
Appice was the first one who was called in to be part of it, given the long history of friendship and musical camaraderie with Turner. After a quick search, Tony Franklin soon agreed to be part of the band – thus reuniting the rhythm section that was featured on the legendary debut album by Blue Murder. The last step was to find the right guitarist and who could be better than long time Joe Lynn Turner collaborator, Karl Cochran: a flamboyant #guitar player that can masterfully handle the Arena #Rock style, with a Classic Hard #Rock sensibility second to none.
Under the executive direction of Perugino and the watchful eye of Frontiers in-house producer Alessandro Del Vecchio (Hardline, Livin’ Out Loud, Voodoo Circle), demos were laid down during the last months of 2013.
With ties to some of heavy rock’s most seminal bands – Rainbow, Deep Purple, Blue Murder and Vanilla Fudge – RATED X is the definition of a supergroup.

Blonde Brothers new album titled "Brucia"
Blonde Brothers is a musical project by Francesco and Luca Baù, two brothers coming from #Asiago (Vicenza) Italy, they are both singers and guitarists.
They write #songs with lyrics in English, Italian and Spanish and in 2012 released their first #album entitled "Lights and Shadows", where the lights and the shadows are the metaphor of life, love and society.
In the summer of 2012 the Blonde Brothers win the competition "Vociferando Festival" in #Bologna and accessing the final stages of the Festival of the arts, invited by famous singer-songwriter Andrea Mingardi.
In March 2013 The Blonde Brothers are called to present the album "Lights and Shadows" in Melbourne,#Australia, in a important venues including the #Veneto Club. During the Australian tour they are interviewed from #Italy Melbourne Network (radio that airs on all Australia, New Zealand, parts of Asia and in Tasmania) and several radio stations in the State of Victoria. In September 2013 participate in "#Sanremo Area" where the band encounter various record producers, and music industry professionals.
In February 2014 The broothers released a new album titled "Brucia", In May they singing and playing in "Hey Joe" very important event in Bologna.In July they are selected at the national contest "Wave Music Awards" as the opening act for Big Italian music artists as #Alexia, Moreno (winner of "Amici") Nathalie (winner of xfactor a few years ago), the Anonimo Italiano, and Manuel Moscati .

“SWEET & LYNCH was born as the brainchild of Serafino Perugino, President of Frontiers Music”, recalls #Sweet. “He asked me to basically sing on this record and then I suggested producing it and co-wrote the songs with George”, continues the singer. Brian Tichy and James Lomenzo were then called in to complete the lineup. Now a complete a band, plans are being formulated to rehearse and book a tour to play the music included on this amazing debut #album “Only to Rise” to the fans in a live setting.
“It’s an incredible combination of classic 70’s and 80’s”, tells Michael Sweet. “You will hear some flavors of Journey, Bad Company, Dokken, Van Halen and Stryper. James and Brian are amazing musicians. They tore it up. The drums and bass are just as impressive as the guitars. Everybody really delivered... The musicianship level on this is top notch. It sounds as if we were all in the studio playing together and we were not. Basically, George wrote some riffs about a minute to a minute and a half long. I wrote lyrics and melodies then arranged them. Then Brian and James came out and tracked the drums and bass, as well as some rhythm stuff. We then sent it back to George to add the guitars."
The combination of Sweet’s powerful, crystal clear vocals and Lynch’s unmatched guitar tone, provide the force and drive that the album needed. The result is truly a “state of the art” Hard #Rock album, with fabulous melodies played to perfection. An absolute must for all fans of Sweet and Lynch's musical stylings!

Produced by Mike Langford plus mastered by Chris Crerar at Toronto’s fame Metalwork Studios, the EP features 7 string powered tracks such as “Come and Get It” and “Hypocrite” to more eastern influenced charismatic progressions in “Truth or Dare” and Latin derived contrasts in “Hopeless”, demonstrating the diverse style of Blind Race. RICHIE KOTZEN Releases two new songs
SET FOR RELEASE IN 2015
Fans of guitarist/singer/songwriter RICHIE KOTZEN anxious to hear new music before his next solo album (details of which are forthcoming) should head over to iTunes, where he just released two new singles, “You” and “Cannibals.”
“You” was co-written by RICHIE’s daughter, August, who appears in the video posted on RICHIE’s official YouTube page. He explains, “It must have been four years ago and my daughter, who is now 17, was constantly playing this piece of music on the piano. I finally asked her what it was and she said she just made it up. I set up the microphones and recorded her playing for about seven minutes. Years later, I found this on my hard drive and decided to write lyrics to it over this past summer. The end result is what you see and hear in the video. It is one of my favorite things I’ve done and I’m happy to have been able to collaborate on music with my daughter.”
“Cannibals” made its debut during his recent three-month solo tour, which started in Europe, taking him through Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Columbia, and Chile, and concluding with a month-long trek of the U.S. “I did something I’ve never done before on this tour,” RICHIE explains, “which is performing an original composition that has yet to be released. The only place you could hear the song ‘Cannibals’ was at the show, and it went over quite well with the fans. Rather than wait to release the song as part of the new album next year, I figured it would be cool to share the studio version now while it’s fresh in the people’s minds who attended my shows. I was able to collect live footage that was shot during the tour and compile a live video to go along with the song.” A newly released video can be found on his official YouTube page here.

The history of SPICY BITS OF SCANDAL, also known as SBS, begins in the year 1979, when two guys from Vilnius, Lithuania decided to form a rock band.
In the year 1988 SBS was famous enough to play not only on the Lithuania’s stages but also abroad: in the international festivals in Latvia and after a year in Poland and etc.
1991 was a significant year for the band: virtuoso guitarist Tomas Varnagiris, and the best Lithuanian hard rock vocalist Vitalis Kairiūkštis joined, and the band was on stage again having gigs in the main Lithuania’s cities.
In 1996 SBS released an MC - „Mėnulio Šviesa“.The recording, containing 9 songs, was initiated by Lithuanian label „Pūkas“.
Although after this record the activity of the band was slower because of the economic situation in Lithuania, the band in year 1999 had a big gig in Vilnius “Karolina” club to celebrate the 20th anniversary of SBS.
After a five years pause, in 2005 the band was ready to rock again. This time – specially for the international Lithuanian festival - „Rock Nights – 2005“.The show of SBS was so successful that after the festival the band was choosen to open for ROYAL HUNT in their concert in Vilnius (October 21th 2005), sadly the show was canceled.
But this year was lucky enough: heavy metal monsters JUDAS PRIEST choosed SBS to open for them in their concert in Vilnius (December 3rd 2005.). This show was recorded and in the begining of 2006, released as a double CD „Gimęs laimėti (Born to win)“, including five brand new songs (one of them - „Žaidėjas“ (The Gambler) became a mega-hit) and the concert from „Rock Nights – 2005“ festival in DVD, which was filmed by Lithuania’s National TV.In “Rock Nights – 2006” festival almost everyone waited for SBS and the show sharing the stage with John Lawton (ex vocalist of Uriah Heep and Lucifer’s friend) was a success again.
In April 2007 SBS released their next album „Tik mėnulio šviesa... (Only moonlight...)“, which was well evaluated by the biggest German webzine „HardHarderHeavy“. The new release got 6 out of 7 and in the REVIEW TOP 15 with 342 votes stood in the second place, after MANOWAR, but was outrunned by PINK CREAM 69 and SAXON.
In 2008 SBS presented their 3rd album “The Gambler”. This album was highly rated by the international media. “Metal to infinity” gave 84 out of 100, “HardHarderHeavy” – 6,5 out of 7 and hailed the band with the phrase “SBS, Europe awaits you !!!”.., “Metal Express Radio” – 8,5 out of 10, “Metal Observer” - 8,5 out of 10 points. Webzine “Progressive rock and progressive metal” nominated “The Gambler” to a “album of the month” award.
At the moment the band ended their 4th album “Heaven can wait...” and is seeking for promotion and concerts worldwide. As the mastermind of SBS Vitalis Kairiūkštis proudly announces, this new album is „international“ – musicians from Italy – the Virtuoso keyboardist Maestro Mistheria (http://www.mistheria.com/home.cfm) - and Germany – Ferdy Doernberg (Axel Rudi Pell, Rough Silk and many many more, (http://www.ferdydoernberg.de/) did the great job with the keyboards. New album is compiled of 15 brand new songs.
“Heaven can wait...”was highly rated by international metal zines. Stormbringer gave 4,5 out of 5 (with musical redactor remark that he hasn’t heard anything better at the moment), Metal To Infinity - 83 out of 100, Metal Temple - 8out of 10, HardHarderHeavy - 6,5 out of 7, PlanetMosh - 8/10.
One of the biggest SBS projects will be „Diagnosis: SBS“, a rock mystery with a symphonic orchestra that might become a big suprise to the music industry and all SBS fans worldwide.

'Last Fair Day Gone Night' features the Swedish dark rock/metal masters at their glorious best with this electrifying set from London’s esteemed Koko venue, with the band’s captivating performance captured on DVD with accompanying double audio disc of the whole concert. This special 4-disc set, released 15th September, also includes a full & extensive (136 minutes) documentary charting the early days and subsequent rise of the prolific Swedes, as told in the words of band masterminds Jonas Renkse and Anders Nyström.
Recorded during a series of special celebratory shows to mark the band’s 20th anniversary during 2011's ‘Last Fair Day Gone Night’ tour, founding members Anders Nyström & Jonas Renkse are joined by drummer Daniel Liljekvist, plus guitarist Per Eriksson and bassist Niklas Sandin, for an exhilarating evening fuelled by a rich & extensive set of Katatonia tracks both past & present. Also includes a special 10th anniversary performance of the landmark 2001 album 'Last Fair Deal Gone Down’ in its entirety. Sleeve artwork comes courtesy of long-time collaborator Travis Smith.
Katatonia was formed in 1991 by Anders Nyström and Jonas Renkse. Their debut album, ‘Dance of December Souls’, was released in 1993, gaining the band recognition for their eclectic brand of gothic doom/death metal and joining acts such as Paradise Lost and My Dying Bride as one of the genre’s defining bands. On future albums a newer, sleeker Katatonia sound came to the fore, starting with a streamlined and structured collection of melodic dark rock songs that became third album ‘Discouraged Ones’ which is widely regarded as the main evolution point for modern day Katatonia.

RIZZI the new gothic band from Brazil
The video is titled "Rain" and produced by Esequiel Lima, K2 Pro Studio in Curitiba, this song will be available early 2015 on the debut EP.
RIZZI formed in Espera Feliz, Minas Gerais, #Brazil with the Rizzi's brothers (with italian origin), Milady, Gergory and Taty, the sound is Gothic Metal influenced by Within Temptation, Evanescence, Lacuna Coil and Nightwish.
The first EP will be released in early 2015, probably with an Italian Record label, the single "Tears Fall Down", recently published is available on the page of the band on Uol, #Facebook and #Soundcloud.
The band performed at the "Night of Shadows Festival" Halloween edition in the city of Carangola, Zona da Mata of Minas Gerais, at the Club Campestre Carangola, sharing the stage with several Brazilian bands, the well known SILENT CRY, the PETITE MORT (Black Metal, ES), SPECTRUM (Heavy Metal, Cataguases-MG) and CONTEMPTY (Doom / Death Metal, Dove MG-Rio).
